Abstract

Research related to port sustainability is relevant, given the importance of maritime transport in international trade and of ports as an interface between different modes of transport and value generators within global supply chains. Therefore, the purpose of this work is to identify the categories that allow port sustainability to be measured within the economic, social, and environmental dimensions in an integrated approach, as there is a bias toward environmental and economic issues that limit progress toward sustainable ports. For this purpose, three proposals with a sustainable approach were compared, and from the similarities found, categories were determined that were evaluated with the Fuzzy-Delphi methodology to reduce ambiguity and uncertainty in their choice. As a result of the application of the aforementioned methodology, the categories from which it is possible to measure port sustainability integrally were identified.
